SSC CGL Photo Size
Photo & Signature
SSC CGL specifies the exact dimensions and file size for both your photo and your signature, and a coloured background is rejected outright. This free tool produces both to specification.

What size should the SSC CGL photo be?
The photo is 200x230 pixels on a WHITE background only — any coloured background is rejected — with a file size of roughly 20-100KB.
How do I upload the SSC CGL signature?
Sign on white paper with black ink and scan it. It must be in cursive handwriting, not block capitals, or it will be rejected.
Why do SSC CGL photos get rejected?
A coloured or patterned background, wrong pixel dimensions, a file over the size limit, or a blurred image. These four cover almost every rejection.
Does SSC still allow photo upload?
On the newer ssc.gov.in portal the photo is captured live through your webcam or the mySSC app rather than uploaded. Use this tool for a printed copy or where an upload is still asked for.
